Photograph of a three-quarter-length portrait of Prince James Francis Edward Stuart (1688-1766). The sitter is facing three quarters to the right, turning his head to the opposite direction and gazing ahead. Depicted standing against a gulf, the prince wears a powdered wig and two sashes over his suit of armour. He holds a baton in his right arm with which he points to a military map placed beside him, to the right. A male attendant holds the prince's helmet in the background, to the left.

At the time of the photograph, the painting was in the collection of The Blairs College, Kincardineshire.
