Photograph of a painting by Paul Delaroche, created in 1847. This three-quarter length portrait of Adolphe-Jacques, baron Mallet de Chalmassy (1787-1868), depicts the French banker standing, facing a quarter to the right and looking at the viewer. He tucks his right hand inside his coat, whilst holding a pair of gloves in his left hand.
