Photograph of a head-and-shoulders portrait of Mary, Queen of Scots (1542-87). The sitter is facing three-quarters to the left and gazing at the viewer. She poses in a dark dress with a lace trimmed bonnet, ruff and veil. A three strand necklace is party visible around her neck.

At the time of the photograph, the painting was in the collection of Colonel Fraser of Castle-Fraser, Aberdeenshire (1792-1871?).
