Photograph of a half-length portrait of Elizabeth, Lady Forbes (c. 1750-1802). The sitter faces the viewer, tilting her head slightly to left. She wears a silk shawl and a simple dress with embroidered neckline. Her hair is dressed high, adorned with pearls and feathers on top. A wooded landscape can be seen in the background, to the right.
At the time of the photograph, the painting was attributed to Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723-92) and was in the collection of Mrs George Forbes, Moniack Castle, Inverness-shire.
