Photograph of a Limoges enamel plaque created in 1553 by Léonard Limosin (c.1506-1577), part of his Crucifixion retable for Saint-Chapelle, Paris (see RCIN 2864504). As with the rest of the retable, this fragment has been in the collection of the Louvre since 1816 (MR 208 1). It shows three fleurs-de-lis in an oval catrouche, surrounded by the collar of the Order of St Michel and surmounted by a crown. The French royal coat of arms is flanked by two 'F's, cyphers of king François I (1494-1547.
