Account Books

Account books relating to Prince Albert’s (1819-61) various personal and official accounts.

Included in this collection are journals and ledgers covering Prince Albert’s main, military and treasurer accounts. The journals record the details of a transaction in the first instance and the ledgers contain less detailed information taken from a journal. The transactions record Prince Albert’s personal spending reflecting his tastes and interests, as well as his official duties and involvement with the Royal Household.
