Holy Family with St Elizabeth and St John the Baptist [‘The Madonna del Divino Amore’]

A print reproducing the composition of the so-called ‘Madonna del Divino Amore’ (c.1518), a painting currently attributed to Raphael’s workshop housed in the Museo e Gallerie Nazionali di Capodimonte, Naples (inv. no.146). According to Ruland (1876), this print was made from a replica of the original painting commonly ascribed to G.F. Penni. With the blind stamp of the publisher in the lower right corner (Lugt 1985), and of the printer in the lower left (Lugt 524). Showing the seated Virgin holding the blessing Christ Child on her legs, with St Elizabeth at her side and the Young St John the Baptist kneeling down on the left; St Joseph stands in the background to the left.
