Prince Consort's Dressing Room, Windsor Castle

c.1873

RCIN 2084148

Glass plate negative of the Prince Consort's Dressing Room in the Private Apartments, Windsor Castle (F208). There is a black marble fire place (RCIN 79838), with a set of fire irons; and overmantel mirror and mantel with four candlesticks, vases and a clock. To the left is a portrait of Queen Victoria by FX Winterhalter, 1847 (RCIN 400885), and below a dressing table with washing equipment. To left of the fireplace is part of a large wardrobe designed by Morel and Seddon (RCIN 36929).

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2101710.
