Glass plate negative of a full length portrait of Prince Arthur, standing, facing the camera. He wears a the undress uniform of the Guards. His nanny, Mary Ann Thurston, stands beside him. The image has been masked so upon printing, only an image of Prince Alfred can be seen.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print of this work exists in the Collection, see RCIN 2900018.
