Glass plate negative of a full-length double portrait of the Empress Friedrich (1840-1901) when Princess Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia, and her husband, Friedrich III, German Emperor (1831-88) when Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia. They are standing arm in arm, facing the viewer. The Princess wears a shawl and a headdress, which is tied underneath her chin with a wide ribbon. She holds a muff in one hand. Prince Friedrich Wilhelm wears a top hat and holds a cane by his right side.

The photograph was taken during the couple's honeymoon at Windsor.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exist in the Collection, RCIN 2306471.
