Albert and Victoria’s collection of glass plate negatives show photographers’ working methods

Glass plate negative of a unidentified painting depicting a half-length portrait of Prince Albert. The prince is facing three-quarters to the left, turning his gaze to look at the viewer. The work was photographed in its within its giltwood frame.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exist in the Collection, RCIN 2931356.h.
