His Royal Highness Prince Albert
c. 1850-70RCIN 2083199
Glass plate negative of an engraving depicting a head-and-shoulders portrait of Prince Albert by James Thomson (RCIN 2506476). The engraving was based on a miniature painting created by Sir William Ross in 1840 (RCIN 421462). The prince appears facing to the right, his face captured in profile. The image is set in an oval.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed.
