Glass plate negative featuring two full-length portraits of Miss Marianne Skerrett sitting on a stone bench in the grounds of Osborne House. Miss Skerrett was Dresser to Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1862. She was also involved in photography.
The negative image on the left has been scratched out, an act perhaps indicative of a displeasing pose.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from the right image exists in the Collection, RCIN 2910153.
