Glass plate negative of a full length portrait of Fraülein Ottilie Bauer (c.1834-1920) standing, facing towards the camera. The sitter turns her head three-quarters to the right and gazes ahead, away from the camera. She holds a book in front of her waist with one hand and places her other over it. An armchair is placed beside her.
Bauer was Royal Governess.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2910726.
