Bout
1854RCIN 2082427
Glass plate negative of Bout, described as Queen Victoria's 'Cashmere dog'. The dog is lying on the ground in front of a brick wall at the Royal Kennels, Windsor.
Bout was given to the queen by Lord Hardinge in 1847 and died in June 1856.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative (RCIN 2105052) can be found in an album belonging to Queen Victoria.
