    Gilt metal pin with photograph | 2.8 x 3.0 x 0.7 cm (whole object) | RCIN 53596

    This circular gilt metal brooch contains a portrait of a young Prince Leopold, later Duke of Albany (1853-84), taken in August 1857. The brooch was likely a Christmas present, owing to an inscription on the verso reading:  'Leopold/ Xmas 1857'.
