FRÉDÉRIC KUHLMANN

Letter from the President of the Society of Sciences and Arts in Lille saying that his society and the Lille town council have agreed to the photographing of the drawings in the Musée Wicar.

19 Nov 1859

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/227

Kuhlmann writes that his society has given its authority for the photographing of the original drawings in the Musée Wicar, as has the town council of Lille. He will tell M. Bingham, who is apparently ready to start work straight away. Kuhlmann adds that he intends to send an official letter to say that the society was persuaded principally by the interest Prince Albert is taking in the publication of the drawings, which will be under his patronage.
