A volume containing Queen Victoria's reminiscences of Prince Albert and their life together. It covers the period from their engagement in 1840 to his death on 14 December 1861, and was written in January 1862.

Also included in the volume are the following;

p.3. A print of Prince Albert, taken from a Sir William Ross miniature [RCIN 421462].
p.6a. Three cartes de visite, one of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert together, and two of Prince Albert alone, taken by John Jabez Edwin Mayall.
p.11. A small sketch in ink made by Queen Victoria to illustrate Prince Albert playing with the children.
pp.35a-d. Copies of various photographs showing tables of presents and Christmas trees during the Christmas period of 1860.
p.40a. A note from Prince Albert to Queen Victoria in which he offers her comfort and advice relating to her feelings of grief after her mother's death. Written at Balmoral and dated 22 October 1861.

A modern typed transcript, made by Mr Ernest Hetherington in 1954, is also included in a grey folder.
