Letter from Prince Albert to Queen Victoria in which he mentions his surprise at Victoria's lack of words of sympathy regarding the vote relating to his income. He also mentions that his brother Ernest has expressed interest in marrying the Duke of Cambridge's daughter, Augusta. He also agrees with Victoria's thoughts on the miniature painting he had previously sent, saying 'I also find it too pale and too grey around the eyes'. He writes that they leave for Calais the next day.
