15 Dec 1839Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (12 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/Z/296/36
Prince Albert writes to Queen Victoria in German and English, enclosing a 'historical account' of his ancestors which he writes has been translated into English by F. Schenk (see VIC/MAIN/Z/296/37). Albert then writes a passage in English, again relating to the choice of the members of his Household. He writes of his doubts concerning Mr Anson being appointed as his Treasurer, saying that he does not know him personally and is also concerned that as Mr Anson is Lord Melbourne's Secretary he may be viewed as partisan by others.
