Lord Melbourne discusses the difficulty of Prince Albert's future position. He emphasises the importance of staying politically neutral and avoiding division with Queen Victoria. He also provides Prince Albert with advice on how to form his Household. He suggests employing individuals who are not members of either House of Parliament but with leanings towards the 'opinions of the present government'.
