An account of the experience of Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Fitzgerald during the attempt on Queen Victoria's life. He describes being on Constitution Hill waiting to see Queen Victoria when he saw a man fire a pistol, but he could not tell whether a ball had passed from it. He writes that himself and a policeman then seized the man before he was taken to the Porters Lodge.
