FREDERICK POLLOCK
Case respecting a passage in Sir John Doddridge's Historical Account of the Principality of Wales'
3 Nov 1841Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (1 page) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/Z/470/53
Query regarding a passage in Sir John Doddridge's Historical Account of the Principality of Wales, addressed to the Law Officer of the Crown. Their opinion is requested with regard to Doddridge's statement that 'the Prince, in our law, is reputed as the same person with the King'. Their answer to the question is provided on the same page and they advise that no legal or constitutional meaning can be attached to the passage. Furthermore that they could see no legal or constitutional objection to Her Majesty directing Prince Albert's name to stand in the liturgy before that of the Prince of Wales.
