An engraving after a design related to Raphael's tapestry cartoon of 'Christ's Charge to Peter' (see RCIN 912945). Signed with engraver's name at lower left. Second state. On watermarked paper (see Heawood 3876), annotated in pencil on the back. Not in Ruland (1876)

It is thought that Diana's engraving may be based upon a closely resembling drawing attributed to Raphael (c.1514-15) now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no.3863), or upon a workshop copy of it now in the Uffizi, Florence (inv. no.1216 E). See RCINs 853047, 853053.
