A lithograph after two figures from a painting that Ruland (1876) attributed to Giovanni Santi (Raphael's father). They were formerly supposed to show Raphael and his mother. Lettered with the title and the attribution of the painting to Raphael;numbered: "201". Plate no.201 from a-yet-unidentified set. Annotated on the verso.
The painting reproduced in this print is presumably the 'Madonna della Misericordia' altarpiece in the church of Montefiore Conca (previously in the church of the Hospital) which has been recently attributed to Bernardino Dolci (c.1490).
