An engraving after a painting by Sebastiano del Piombo (c.1512) now in the Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence (inv. 1890, n. 1443). Lettered with title, production details and traditional attribution to Raphael. Stamped with the blind stamps of Hauser (Lugt 4210) and Veith (Lugt 4212).

The identity of the sitter, who has been formerly identified as Margherita Luciani (known as La Fornarina), is still a matter of dispute. Photographs of the painting at RCINs 852045, 852046.
