NICHOLAS DE LARMESSIN II (C.1645-1725)
Portrait of a Young Man
c. 1682Engraving | 20.4 x 14.7 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 852148
A print of the bust of a man, wearing a cap and a dark douvet over a white shirt, identified as Bramante. Signed on plate with engraver's monogram (see Nagler, IV, under no.2462). Published in Isaac Bullart, Académie des sciences et des arts, 1682.
Ruland (1876) seems to suggest a connection between the portrait bust reproduced in this engraving and a painting previously in the collection of M. Parade de l'Estang at Aix, formerly thought to be a portrait by Raphael of Marcantonio Raimondi. For an engraving after that portrait, see RCIN 852147.
