Albumen print | 24.7 x 19.8 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 852030

A photograph of the head of Pope Julius II, a detail from a cartoon housed in the Galleria Corsini, Florence (inv. no.148). The cartoon has often been regarded as the original cartoon made by Raphael for his 'Portrait of Pope Julius II' (c.1511) now in the National Gallery, London (inv. NG 27). It is now commonly accepted either as an early workshop copy or as a later repetition. A photograph of the whole cartoon at RCIN 852029.
