According to nineteenth century newspapers and to a recent publication by Patrizia Masini (see Bibliographic References) the statue was erected in Rome in the 1830s and bought in 1833 by Lord Shrewsbury. The location of this statue appears is now unknown, but a terracotta model of it is in the Museum of Palazzo Venezia, Rome.
