published 1790Etching | 4.6 x 10.5 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 850088
An etching after the obverse and reverse of a medal struck in honour of Raphael that Ruland (1876) catalogued as then in the Casali Museum, Rome. By this he was probably referring to the collection put together by Marquis Casali in Villa Casali, now destroyed, on the Caelian Hill. According to Ruland (1876) this print was published in Angelo Comolli's "Vita Inedita di Raffaello da Urbino", 1790. Trimmed within the platemark.
