c.1600-1630Engraving | 15.2 x 10.7 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 850021
An engraving reproducing in reverse a painting by Raphael (c.1505) now in the Uffizi, Florence (inv. no. 1890). This print is numbered "ii" at bottom left. This print is part of a series of 81 prints published in a pattern book designed by Agostino Carracci and engraved by Luca Ciamberlano and Francesco Brizio.
This painting has been identified as a self-portrait of Raphael, but there is much debate about its authorship. This is partially due to its state of preservation (see Bibliographic References for further discussion).
