      Portfolio 40 is devoted to the Piccolomini Library in Siena Cathedral, frescoed by Pinturicchio and his workshop with the aid of preparatory drawings by Raphael. Major projects such as the Chigi chapels in Santa Maria della Pace and Santa Maria del Popolo, the Villa Farnesina, Cardinal Bibbiena’s stufetta and the Villa Madama (all in Rome) are represented in portfolios 41–45.
