A worn later impression of an engraving by Marco Dente da Ravenna depicting the Annunciation that Ruland (1876) catalogued as being after a lost original executed by Raphael for the Grassi family in Bologna (c.1510-1511). On watermarked paper. This print is inscribed with publication details. Not in Ruland (1876). For the earlier impression by Marco Dente da Ravenna, see RCIN 850308.
Massari (see Bibliographic References) states that the painting was lost in 1773 and that the known prints depicting the composition are after a lost preparatory drawing.
