Photograph of Brigadier Garrett mounted on a horse facing left. He is wearing military uniform and holds a sword in his left hand. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.

Brigadier Garrett served during the Crimean War and later became the Commander of British Troops in China and Hong Kong.
