Photograph of Major Brandling's troop of horse artillery. Major Brandling is mounted on a horse to the left with a group of soldiers around him. To the right there are a number of tents with soldiers standing beside them in a group. Behind the tents there is a row of wooden huts. On the grass further down the hillside there is a big group of horses and several rows of gun carriages. Behind there is a rocky hillside with a track leading up to the left and another camp on the top. Troops engaged in the Siege of Sevastopol camped in the surrounding countryside.
