Photograph of Major Brandling's troop of horse artillery. In the foreground there are a number of tents with wooden huts behind. Soldiers are gathered around the tents and to the left, all wearing military uniform. On the grass further down the hillside there is a big group of horses and several rows of gun carriages. Behind there is a rocky hillside with a track leading up to the left and another camp on the top. Troops engaged in the Siege of Sevastopol camped in the surrounding countryside.
