Two Turkish soldiers stand to the right and there is open land behind. Ismail Pacha was a Hungarian soldier whose real name was György Kmety. After the Hungarian Revolution he joined the Ottoman army and played a significant role in the Crimean War. A chibouque is a long stemmed Turkish tobacco pipe.
