Photograph of a full length double portrait of Princess Alice, later Grand Duchess of Hesse and by Rhine (1843-78), and Prince Louis, later Grand Duke of Hesse (1837-92). Princess Alice stands on the right, facing towards the left, her face captured in profile. Prince Louis stands facing the camera, his left hand behind his back.
