Photograph of a full length portrait of a woman and a young girl. The woman is seated on a chair beside a spinning wheel. She gazes down at a book she holds in her left hand. The woman wears a scarf on her head, a patterned shawl, light colour shirt and apron and a striped skirt. A young girl crouches beside the woman, placing her hands on the woman's lap. She faces right, gazing at the book the woman holds.
