Photograph of a man's head within a dish or charger with drapery on either side. This photograph was intended by Rejlander as part of a composition, which he never completed, although a study for Salome was made at about the same period. In February 1869 Queen Victoria bought twenty-two of Rejlander's prints, including St John the Baptist's Head.
