Photograph of the reverse of a painted enamel ewer stand by Pierre Reymond (1513-84). Created in 1569 and now in the collection of the Louvre, Paris (N 1280), the platter was painted in grisaille on dark background. The main design is formed by intertwined garlands of fruit, cartouches, masks and putti, whilst the outer rim is decorated with a frieze of foliate scrollwork.
