Photograph of a watercolour (RCIN 927595) memorialising Prince Albert (1819-61). The watercolour is intended to resemble an altarpiece. Prince Albert features at the centre of the work, dressed in armour. 

Queen Victoria had the watercolour inserted into the door of the Blue Room at Windsor Castle, where the Prince had died.

Photograph is from a folder of photographs of paintings and artworks displayed in Prince Albert's (1819-61) rooms. This watercolour was displayed in the Blue Room. The Blue Room was subsequently referred to as The Albert Room.
