The head of a man

1860

Albumen print | 12.5 x 10.2 cm (image) | RCIN 2864199

A photograph of a drawing by Raphael (c.1504-1505) now in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Lille (inv. no. 434). Annotated on the verso.

Joannides (see Bibliographic References) noted a sculpturesque solidity in this drawing created by the dense and strong hatching; for a photograph of another drawing of the same model, see RCIN 851575.

A copy of this photograph (RCIN 854430) can be found in the Prince Consort's Raphael Collection, portfolio 48 (970608)
