1858Albumen print? | 20.9 x 29.4 cm (image) | RCIN 2864293
A photograph of a drawing now in the Albertina, Vienna (inv.169). Previously attributed to Raphael and Giovanni Francesco Penni, it is now generally thought to be a copy after a lost drawing by Penni. His drawing served as a preparatory design for the fresco of 'Noah's Sacrifice' painted by the workshop of Raphael (c.1517-19) in the vault of the third bay of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican.
