Farmhouses in a landscape and The monastery S. Maria del Sasso
1858Albumen print? | RCIN 2864372
A photograph of two separate drawings, the top depicting a farm house and the bottom buildings on a hill, now in the Albertina Museum, Vienna (inv. no. 17577 and 17578), where it is attributed to Fra Bartolomeo.
The subject of the second work has been identified with the monastery of S. Maria del Sasso in Bibbiena seen from northeast. At the bottom of this drawing is a cartouche inscribed RAPHAEL VRBINAS – exactly the same cartouche, although blank, is on a drawing by Fra Bartolomeo in the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm (inv. no. NMH 275/1863, see RCIN 854538 for a photograph of it).
A photograph of each individual drawing (RCINs 854520-1) can be found in the Prince Consort's Raphael Collection, portfolio 49 (970609)
