'Altar Piece'; The Adoration of the Kings

Photograph of an altar piece, 'The Adoration of Kings' by Jan Gossaert (c.1478-1532), also known as Jan Mabuse. At the centre of the work is the Virgin Mary seated, holding the Christ Child. On the right, a kneeling male figure presents the child with a gift. Angels feature in the upper half of the work.
At the time of the photograph, the work was in the collection of William George Howard, 8th Earl of Carlisle (1808-89). The work is now held by the National Gallery, London.
