JOSEPH CUNDALL (1819-95)
Letter from Joseph Cundall to Charles Ruland concerning a delay in delivering some of the photographs of Raphael drawings and mentioning a drawing belonging to the Duke of Sutherland.
16 Apr 1860Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/112
Cundall writes that the re-copying of the photographs of Mr Stuart's and Lord Leconfield's drawings has been delayed by bad weather, and asks whether he should deliver the negatives of the other photographs or wait until all are ready.
He asks whether the Prince Consort knows of the Duke of Sutherland's Raphael drawing which matches Henry Farrer's drawing and formed part of the same predella. He adds that Dr. Becker told him HRH intended to give the owners of the drawings copies of the photographs taken of them; he has received enquiries about this, but no orders from HRH.
