This gold pendant was given to Princess Victoria of Wales on her birthday by Queen Victoria in 1870. It is set with a photograph of Prince Albert, under which sits the name 'ALBERT' in blue enamel. There is a border around the portrait, and a design, both created in blue enamel.Above the photograph is a crown and beneath a drop pearl. On the verso is an inscription reading: 'To / Our dear little / GRANDAUGHTER / VICTORIA OF WALES / In recollection of / Her dear Grandpapa / Albert / From her most / Affectionate / GRANDMAMA, / VICTORIA.R. / 6 July 1870'.
