The Virgin and Child with the Infant Baptist and two Angels

An outline-etching reproducing a composition attributed on plate to Raphael. Lettered with production details and titles. Published in C.P. Landon, 'Vie et Œuvre complète de Raphaël Sanzio', 1803, plate 390. The composition is better known through an engraving by Agostino Veneziano, the later state of which is dated 1518. The print shows the Infant Baptist being supported by an angel on the left while reaching for the Christ Child, who is held by His mother; another winged angel with hands crossed on his chest at right; in an interior with a curtain draped behind them.
