An engraving, the composition of which appears to be freely based on a print by Marcantonio Raimondi from which the figures of the Virgin and Child are clearly taken, together with several additions and changes. The engraving by Raimondi is described as probably after drawings by Raphael for his paintings of the Madonna di Foligno and Madonna Sistina. An impression of Marcantonio's engraving can be found at RCIN 850943.

Showing the Virgin sitting on clouds, supporting the standing Christ Child looking down to the right with both hands, surrounded by clouds and angels.
